Originated in 1905, The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) is the national governing body of Olympic skiing and snowboarding. It is the parent organization of the U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Snowboarding, and U.S. Freeskiing. The USSA teaches leadership and guidance for tens of thousands of young skiers and snowboarders, encouraging and supporting them. By empowering national teams, clubs, coaches, parents, officials, volunteers and fans, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association is committed to the continuation of skiing sports and athletic excellence.  The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association receives no direct government support and operating primarily through private donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations to fund these programs to assist athletes in achieving their goals and making their dreams become a reality.

The Foundation assists with fundraising, development, communication, education and marketing support and leadership as directed by the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association.  It contributes management and business expertise toward the realization of the vision and mission of the USSA.  They provide support for training in skiing and snowboarding athletes with the potential to become elite athletes.  In addition, they implement educational needs and aspirations of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association’s elite athletes.
