In the Gallatin Valley, we are lucky enough to be home to a myriad of outdoor recreation areas. It is also no surprise that Bozeman has a lot of dirt biking enthusiasts that call this place home.

Hyline Raceway

Operated by the Gallatin Valley Dirt Riders Club, this motorway is a fantastic place to come to practice your dirt bike skills. Although you must have a membership to ride on most days, this raceway does allow open riding on certain days of the month for a small fee. If you want a place that is a little less wild and more tame, this is a great place to go!

If you’re up for a little driving, then head east of Bozeman toward Butte, Montana. About an hour east of the Gallatin Valley is Whitehall, MT, where dirt biking trails are abundant! Pipestone is a dirt biking trail that has more than 75 miles of trail. It is also open year-round, which means more time to enjoy the great outdoors in beautiful Montana!

Cokedale Motocross

Head in the opposite direction to Livingston, Montana and you’ll find yourself at Cokedale Motocross. Recently redone in 2012, this natural terrain track has big uphill and downhill climbs, as well as sections built into the hillside. It is a quick 20 minute drive from Bozeman, but the fun you’ll have will last all day. Come check it out and put your bike to good use!

Although we are surrounded by the great outdoors, make sure to follow the laws and regulations for the trails. Some trails are dirt bike friendly, while others are foot, horse, and mountain biking only. Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy Montana as it was meant to be, outside!
